Statutory Criteria

 

• Children from socially disadvantaged circumstances of nursery age who reside in the Parish of
  • Limavady
  • Ballyquin Road and adjacent roads as far as the Roeview Ardgarvin and Ballyavelin Road to the Parish boundary. Ballymore and the Largy area within the Limavady Parish. Dromore and Barnault Road to the junction with Highland Road. Moyse. Ballykelly Road up to but not including Spallen Road. The Myroe area served by the priests of Limavady Parish. Dowland Road to the junction with the Windyhill Road. Windyhill Road and adjacent roads to the Parish boundary. Bolea, Mill Park and Bolea Road. Broad Road to the Parish boundary. Ringsend Road and Drumsurn Road to the Parish boundary.
  • Lilac Avenue, Grannagh Park, Dowland Park: Dowland Road from the junction with Windyhill Road to the Parish boundary. Aghanloo Road to the Parish

• Children from socially disadvantaged circumstances of nursery age

Note: “Children from socially disadvantaged circumstances” means a child whose parent is in receipt of Income Support or Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance or an award of Income Support which has been converted into an Employment and Support Allowance and the level of benefit remains the same. When parents apply for places for their child on this basis they must have their application forms stamped by the Social Security Agency to confirm that they are in receipt of a qualifying payment.

• Children of Nursery Age from the Parish of Limavady who are considered by the Education Authority as having significant special educational needs which indicate that the child would benefit from nursery Documentary evidence must be submitted to the Board of Governors.

Sub-Criteria

If there are more applicants satisfying the last criterion which can be applied, then selection will be based on the following sub- criteria:

• Children with brothers/sisters/half-brothers/half-sisters/foster siblings presently enrolled in Termoncanice Primary

• Children whose parent/guardian is currently a permanent employee in the

• Children currently on the “at risk” register maintained by the Western Health Social Care

• Children who, in the opinion of the Board of Governors, have special home circumstances considered in the following order:
  • a child whose parent has a serious long-term illness – medical evidence
  • (i) a child who has two parents deceased;

(ii)                             a child who has one parent deceased;

• children who are twins, or other multiple birth;
• a child from a family of three or more-pre-school age

In the event of over-subscription in the last criterion which can be applied, then selection for all places remaining in this category will be on the basis of the initial letter of the surname in order set out below.

The order was selected by a randomized selection of letters of the alphabet. In the event of surnames beginning with the same letter, the subsequent letters of the surnames will be used in alphabetical ascending order. In the event of 2 identical surnames the alphabetical order of the initials of the forename(s) as printed on the birth certificate will be used, both in ascending order.
